    Clarence Onyett, 89, of Hot Springs Village passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015. Clarence was born July 26, 1925 in Cairo, Illinois and grew up in Sikeston, MO. to Clarence and Anna Onyett.

    Clarence served in the US Navy from 1940-1943. He went to Centralia Jr. College where he was a star Basketball player. He then went to Eastern Illinois University and got his Bachelors Degree in teaching, went on to get his Masters in Education/Administration at DePaul University in Chicago. He taught for 31 years in District 148 in Dolton, Illinois and retired in 1982. He and Frances moved to Hot Springs Village in 1993.

    Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Evelyn Etnire and John Onyett, and a son-in-law Bob Cenar. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances, 4 children: Sherri (Al) Loya, Ronald, Dian Cenar, and Caryn (Jay) Kappenman, 4 grandchildren: Melanie, Jim, Will and Liz, 3 great-grandchildren: Jay, Maddie and Oliver.

    Visitation will be on Sunday March 1st from 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. with the reciting of the Rosary at 4:00 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Funeral services will be on Monday March 2nd at 1:00 p.m. with Father Bill Elser officiating.

    In lieu of flowers, family request that memorials be made in honor of Clarence to Arkansas Hospice.
